“Following discussions between FIA, F1 and the Miami promoter, the decision has been taken to move the start of Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix to 13:00 local time in Miami due to the weather forecast that is expected to bring heavier rainstorms later in the afternoon close to the original planned race start time,” announced officials.
The Miami Grand Prix, held at the Miami International Autodrome near Hard Rock Stadium, has quickly become a highlight on the Formula 1 calendar since its inception in 2022. Originally scheduled for 16:00, this year’s race will now kick off three hours earlier to ensure safety and enjoyment for both fans and drivers.
This adaptation showcases the event’s commitment to delivering a world-class motorsports experience. Katharina Nowak, a key organizer, emphasized, “Our goals and vision have remained the same in the sense that we’re looking to build a world-class motorsports event.” She also noted that it takes collective effort to host such a significant gathering, saying, “It’s a little bit of a joint collaboration from everyone that’s hosting the celebrities.”
The fifth edition of the Miami Grand Prix promises more than just racing; it features vibrant music festivals and diverse food experiences, making it a destination for the rich and famous. The event won the 2025 Promoter of the Year award at the Autosport Awards, further solidifying its status as one of F1’s can’t-miss spectacles.
With a contract extension keeping the race alive through at least 2041, expectations are high for this year’s edition. The 2026 Miami GP is anticipated to be bigger than ever, with more on-track action planned than previous years.
As preparations continue, fans remain excited about what this year’s adjustments will bring. The community looks forward to an exhilarating weekend filled with speed and entertainment at one of Formula 1’s most glamorous venues.
