The highest chance for severe weather is expected from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. today, with storms potentially bringing tornadoes to the Pittsburgh area, forecasted to reach EF-1 to EF-2 intensity. Damaging wind gusts and hail are significant threats during this severe weather event.
In addition to tornadoes, there is a marginal risk of excessive rainfall in the Pittsburgh area today. A First Alert Weather Day has been issued by the KDKA Weather team due to the severe weather threats.
“We feel that there was probably more that happened at that house than what we were able to gather last night,” stated Michael Matrunics, indicating ongoing investigations related to the severe weather impacts.
