Five Guys BOGO Deal Celebrates 40 Years
Five Guys is celebrating its 40th birthday with a buy one burger, get one free (BOGO) offer, valid through Thursday, March 12, 2026. This promotion is part of the “40th After Party” and is available exclusively online and through the Five Guys app.
Customers can redeem the offer using the code FGAFTERPARTY. However, it is important to note that the BOGO deal is not valid for in-store orders, limiting participation to digital channels.
The first BOGO offer launched on February 17, 2026, and it quickly gained popularity, leading to food shortages at some locations. Five Guys has approximately 1,500 locations in the U.S., with notable concentrations in Tennessee, including 32 locations, 9 in Nashville, 6 in Knoxville, and 4 in Memphis.
In response to the overwhelming demand, Five Guys plans to distribute approximately $1.5 million in bonuses to store employees, acknowledging the challenges faced during the promotion. Jerry Murrell, one of the founders, expressed gratitude for the customer response, stating, “We were genuinely humbled by your response.”
Despite the excitement surrounding the offer, Five Guys has faced criticism regarding service levels during the promotion. A spokesperson stated, “We didn’t meet our own standards, and that’s not something we take lightly. So, we’re asking for a do-over.” They added, “We are truly sorry that we didn’t meet your or our expectations.”
Founded in 1986, Five Guys began when Jerry and Janie Murrell told their sons they either had to go to college or start a business. This entrepreneurial spirit has propelled the brand to significant growth over the decades.
As the promotion continues, observers are keen to see how Five Guys manages the demand and addresses customer feedback. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential adjustments to the offer or service improvements in response to the initial challenges.
